Here is a list of pretty decent links to articles on fan fiction. Thought these might help some of you. I found them quite useful. Lemme know.
1. Tips on Writing Fan/Fiction by Ginks.
- This article concentrates on the actual parts of a fictional piece including the beginning, ending, epilogue, prologue, settings, inside jokes, ideas, dramatic irony, etc. It's good to read something broke down like this.
2. Mazrim's 6 Easy Steps to Writing Great FanFiction by Mazrim Taim.
- This is sort of dedicated more towards RPG fanfic, but it's still helpful overall. Good tips that can be used for any type of writing.
3. Understanding Fan Fiction by Angela Thomas.
- This basically talks about what fanfic is and what it means to people. The main title is "Fan fiction online: engagement, critical response and affective play through writing." That should explain it.
4. Is Fan Fiction a Good Writing Process? by Kathryn Lively.
- I liked this article, but it's not just for those who write online for fun, but those who write fanfic and original fiction both. It talks about the pros and cons of writing for practice. Great article.
5. Dr. Merlin's Guide to Fanfiction by Merlinmissy.
- This entire essay is in article format here. It digs deep into where to start writing, how to's of fanfic, why to write it, different types of fic, etc.I haven't read this ENTIRE thing yet because it's 10 pages long, but it's good so far! |

I think I've decided that this journal will be for...
- Music downloads, fanmixes, and mixtapes.
- Top 10 Lists, recs, links, etc.
- Maybe some icons if I get around to them.
- Memes, surveys, fun stuff.
What I probably won't use this journal for...
- actual real life stuff
- boring journal entries about stupid crap
